 Radio Club Inc.

KQSO, that doesn't look like a Ham call.  What's up with that?

KQSO is FM Broadcast radio. Just like your favorite FM commercial radio station.  But, it is run by Ham radio amateurs as another facet of the activities of the Western Oregon Radio Club.

KQSO is licensed by the FCC to serve Newberg Oregon and surrounding areas at a frequency of 102.9 MHz.  Refer to the map (below) which shows the approximate coverage area.

Western Oregon Radio Club members can try their hand at broadcast announcing or programming, gaining experience and knowledge about the world of commercial radio.  The criteria to do this, is as follows:

* You need to be a Member of the WORC

* You also need to hold a valid Amateur Radio License

What you can do is:

* Submit program material for consideration to be broadcast on KQSO

* We will accept material in 60 minute durations

* You will need to place KQSO station ID's at 0, 15, 30, and 45

minute intervals (we will supply you with the text for the ID)

* Electronic file format should either be MP3, WAV, or WMA files

* Contact us by email to suggest your program idea.  We will respond back to you for approval or suggestions.

* Submit your program to us on CD or DVD and if approved, we will program your show to broadcast for 1 week with 2 or 3 rotations daily.

* All submissions will be previewed by the WORC before broadcast.

We do not have studios set up yet.  So, if you're interested in making financial donations to the club to help build a studio and support the station, please contact us at the WORC.
